Lady Liberty is looking a little rough. I pieced together that she is a late stage VAM-3 with her hair-lip but the diagonal streak, would that be just toning on maybe grease from a roller? It is GSA encased. The reverse's relief, particularly legend has a lot of markings (clashing?) and I assume Machine Doubling of a good portion of the legend. It strikes me as a lot going on with the coin. I am wondering what might have happened to it with the diagonal streak, what appears to be more than just bag marks on her cheek and the textured legend with doubling. Looking to me like she took a good beating from the ugly stick, is this something that would take away from appeal? I don't like making assumptions because I am often wrong with them, especially with coins. Thanks.
I wouldn't have guessed it was in a GSA ... I've never seen, what appears to be environmental damage. She is definitely banged up a bit, but aren't they all :)
