Most of the rubber we mixed (in Banbury mixers) was synthetic but we did have some natural rubbers imported from Asia. You never knew what you'd find in those big blocks of natural rubber. Knives, sticks, other tools, etc. I used to have a couple of the rubber balls we made as souvenirs. They were almost tennis ball size and a strong arm could get them to bounce 50 feet in the air! My grandfather worked for Goodrich and he had a set of synthetic rubber samples, in the form of balls. Some bounced great, other had almost no bounce at all. Report this Post to the Staff
