My wife and I are moving to Florida soon so we're packing things up. One of the interesting things she found hiding was the old Cheerios box used for the US Mint Cent / Golden Dollar promotion. The dollar coins have a detailed feather reverse that was changed before the coins went into production resulting in one of the most desirable variety coins of recent history. The total coins minted was reported to be 5500, but the true number isn't known, as some of the dollar coins found in the Cheerios boxes have the normal reverse and not the FS-902 Prototype reverse. Certification services have only graded around 200 of the dollar coins. The highest graded MS-69 (population 1) by NGC sold last year for $27,600 at a Stack's Bowers gallery auction. I took a couple of pictures of the 'contest' box to share with collectors that may have heard about the promotion but didn't get to see where the 'Cheerios Dollar' came from. It's still in good shape, even after 25 years. I hope you enjoy seeing them! ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I could go with the last year of Lincoln cents (2026?) distributed in boxes of Pop Tarts... One cent per 250 boxes.

Very Nice Cheerios/US Mint cereal box, I have a collection of the Cheerios Coins that are still missing after my last move, but I'm sure they are here somewhere. haven't seen them since Day One from the box.
Do you still have the Cereal itself in the unopened bag?

Thanks for the replies! I'm all for another US Mint product tie-in, and I do love Pop Tarts! Here's a picture of both Cheerios coins still in the mint packaging. I meant to include this in the original post but forgot. The Cheerios Cent in the original package. One of 10,000,000 distributed. The Cheerios Cent and Dollar in the original package. One of 5,500(?) distributed.
