Old Dan:

I was only kidding about the "circling the rock" thing.

As a former history teacher, I really appreciate your reasoning.

Kind of figured as much, but this whole thing has been quite a blast. Actually I had the whole thing figured out when quite by accident, I recognized the two people with the wagon. It was none other than Grandpa and Grandma Adams. The rest of the story was easy to figure out.

I'm kinda bored with the State Quarter program. Maybe if it wasn't long lived...

If you know anything about that part of the country, you recognize the landscape around "chimney rock'' in western Nebraska. You also know that the Oregon trail is located south of chimney rock, which brings up the next point. The wagon and oxen are apparently traveling the wrong direction (east) as the rock would be looking in a northerly direction. It would be late in the day as the sun is setting in the west. Guess who ever it is in the wagon has been as far as they intended to go and has started back home again to Indiana.

Take a look and see if you don't agree that they did the scene backwards!

-- Dan, I truly admire your sense of observation- Fantastic! Who knows- maybe some of those people did turn back.- Nope, I really think they were true blue pioneers focused on a gaining a new home for all of their dreams. --
