This large 40mm 28.5 gram silver coin appears to represent several city states.

Obverse: HENRI.MI.DEGRATIA.POST.E.PIS.HAL.D.B.E.L.P.P.C surrounding RECTE/FACIENDO/NEMINEN/TIMEAS 1598

Reverse: The shields of several city states? surrounding VERITAS (TRUTH) VIN/OM CIV/NIA CALVM/NIA MLN/DACIVM (Dacium)

MB #290 - A Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel truth thaler. Krause doesn't list a price, which typically means that I can't afford it. The real question here is whether or not this coin is real. Where did you get it from?

It came with a group of old coins to my shop a few years ago. It is not a copy or counterfeit. I have spent many years doing die studies and counterfeit coin detection and it has the right look and feel. Not that I can't be fooled but I am sure this is real.
