The 2 on the date has me wondering whether it is a small date or large. This penny weighs 3.1. can you please confirm the date on this, is it large?

It'sa 1982 Philadelphia Mint small date, quite common really. While the Denver Mint small date, copper version is the Holy Grail coin.

It's not the valuable one. Your coin is the 1982 Small Date Philadelphia copper cent. The one you need to look for is the 1982 Small Date Denver copper. Your coin is worth 1 cent.
