I am just curious as to the Metallurgic properties of all of the coins aside from the Lincoln Memorial penny. To be more specific, are the $1/50¢/25¢/10¢/5¢ .999 or .900 Silver in Content?

I believe the only silver coin in this set is the dollar. It would be .900 fine silver.

Correct! The only silver coin in any of the prestige proof sets is the $1 coin which is 90% silver. (The only exception is the 1993 set which has the Madison half dollar which is also 90% silver)

I agree with Ratman on the metal composition of the coins.

These sets were only made from 1983 to 1997 (Except for 1985, where none were released)
This series of sets are easily obtainable if you were to chase after the rest of them

The 1996 is pricier than the rest as alot fewer were produced.

This.

I have this set, as well as 1988 and 1991. I plan to get the others eventually.

The mint made the change from .900 to .999 in 2019.

https://www.coinworld.com/news/us-c...osition.html

Prior to that, everything was .900 fine except the 3c silver type 1s and the earliest silver coins that were IIRC .8964 or some weird number like that.

Thanks TeeEss, most of them aren't really all that expensive but take your time in getting them. I have had mine for a long time and I don't know what they are valued at now. (something I should be checking on at some point.)

I have the 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1997 sets. Not into the Olympic coins so I skipped the rest.
