Here's an attractive little Caesarean era dated coin I recently picked up.

An-Attractive-Little-Ae

Seleucis and Pieria, Antioch.(Time of Hadrian). 117-138 AD. AE Dichalkon (3.56 gm, 15mm). Dated Caesarean Era 177 (128/9 AD). ANTIOX#1028;ΩN [MHTPOΠOΛ#1028; C], laureate and draped bust of Apollo left. ETOY ZOP (date), Γ, branch.

The date is the Z (7) O (70) P (100), starting from 48 BC with a victory Julius C. had over Pompey .

Any other CE dated coins or pseudo-autonomous coins from the Hadrian years? I'd love to see them.

Really nice coin. The celators really made an effort in Hadrian's time for the details given to the coins of the empire.

An attractive little AE indeed!

Here's a much littler one, undated but tentatively attributed to Hadrian...

An-Attractive-Little-Ae An-Attractive-Little-Ae

Syria, Antioch ad Orontem, civic issue under Hadrian (?)
AE uncia (chalkous?)
Bust of Hadrian (?) right / SC in wreath, ε below
11x10 mm, 1.09 grams
RPC III 3709

I have a dated pseudo-antonomous one in similar size, but the date is illegible, what legend is visible doesn't match anything on RPC, and the closest comparisons are from the reign of Antoninus Pius rather than Hadrian.

It turns out, after a further search, that I actually did apparently miss the appropriate RPC entry...

An-Attractive-Little-Ae An-Attractive-Little-Ae

Syria, Antioch ad Orontem Hierapolis (?), civic issue, 2nd century AD
Bust of Apollo (?) right / lyre, A above, ETO (retrograde) and date (not sure which) below
11 mm, 1.32 grams
probably RPC IV.3 8544 var (unlisted retrograde)
[but cf RPC IV.3 7199 with very similar design]

If my new attribution is correct, it's dated in the Seleucid and not Caesarean era, as well. Still a neat little coin, though.
