I was rooting through my storage locker yesterday and found a long forgotten box of 11 rolls of silver quarters.
1 roll variuos Edward all AG
1 roll 1910 all G orless
5 rolls GeorgeV all VG-F (no 1911,15,21,or27)
2 rolls George VI all VF
2 rolls 1967 all circulated
Should I sell them for melt and put $900 in my pocket today,or should I sell them in lots on ebay?I wonder if I would net much more than $900 on ebay or would I be spending a lot of time and effort for very little return?

Perhaps you should let a professional do the melting.

Canadian coins I cannot help you with but as far as junk US Silver goes ebay will yield a slightly higher return price after fees than selling them to a refiner or bullion dealer. But as to if its worth the time you invest in the venture that's up to you what do you consider your time to be worth?

if you have alot of time, ebay will net a bit more....but man... you do need time...
I would hang on to them for another few months for Silver to go up...then sell them all together to a metal place, not to a dealer. today it is about USD2 for a Can quarter.

Why not check for interest here (after you have your 50 posts, of course!)for a few days, and if no one bites, then go ebay?

There seem to be quite a few collectors of Canadian coins in the community, and they may be interested in the better ones.

I'd also hold onto them for a bit before you do anything. I think silver will re-test last years high some time in the nearish future, and as a bonus the spot price exchange favors us in Canada more now. Gold today is scraping past $950/oz, and there's a lot more negative economic data to come, along with the ALT-A fiasco which has the potential to be worse than subprime.
