1733 German State of Hesse-Darmstadt 10 Kreutzer: Added: In looking at my 18th Century box, I've got about ten more coins to add to this thread that represent unique years and issuers. That won't bring us to completion without some judicious swapping.

Another nice addition Spence. Quote: I've got about ten more coins to add to this thread that represent unique years and issuers. That won't bring us to completion without some judicious swapping. This century was never going to be easy. 52/100

Quote: Spence needs a hand. Yesss! And from such a super spot in the world--thx @bct! Here is a Grosso dated 1739 from the Vatican/Papal State: Anyone wanting to see more Papal State coinage should check out @tdz's excellent thread here: http://goccf.com/t/476396

After that last coin of Spence, I'm a bit embarassed with this one: City of Utrecht, 1 duit, 1783: That's it for me for now. Jan

@bct, thx for the kind words. Your Duit looks like it has been well-used in commerce, with perhaps a little time spent in salt water. I'm not sure that Utrecht is available for posting though--I'll let @mmm make the determination though as this is their thread to moderate. Meanwhile, here is a Kreutzer from the German Earldom of Montfort dated 1744:

I'll await a determination. I believe that the previous one was province of Utrecht and mine was city of Utrecht.

Glad to have that question sorted out @mmm. For today, I've got this 1 1/2 Pfennig from the German State of Saxe-Eisenach that is dated 1753.

Another nice one Spence. 1 and a half pfennigs is an unusual denomination...

Thx @mmm! Here is another entrant from the German States: Brunswick-Lunenburg-Callenberg (i.e. without the Hannover as was seen in the coin from 1702). This Pfennig is dated 1759:

Yes! For today I have this 6 Groszy from the Polish Possession of East Prussia that is dated 1776. There was a time when I found it quite hard to purchase coins from that date so meaningful in US history, but now have a few from around the world so have scratched that itch.

Another beauty Spence Quote: Always nice to see a wildman I'm no German historian but my research suggests that Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg preceded Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, which would mean Spence's latest wildman is once again from Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover and therefore not a valid coin to play. edit: Numista lists both of those wildman coins under "Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover"

Hmm, wouldn't be the first time that I shouldn't have trusted the sellers attribution. I will say that the German States from this time period are a mess, with a constant evolution in understanding.
