NGC - Coin of the Day: The Eiffel Tower opened on this day in 1889, so enjoy this France 1989 Gold Piefort 5 Francs. Issued for the Paris landmark's centennial, the coin had a mintage of only 25. This one realized $10,370 in a Heritage Auctions Coins sale just a few days ago.

Crazy has been the Paris Mint striking so many coins and varieties for collectors. So they do small issues, but very many of those.

I think they may be one of the causes of there being fewer french collectors. It would be daunting to keep up with the mint production.
