This coin has proved infuriating to image. I don't know what it is about copper proof DDRs that is so much harder to image than doubling on nickel proofs.

Lots of possibilities on doubled initials, including 1964 1˘ Pr WDDR-105, 118, 119, 120, 123, 124.

Yes even with the fuzzy pics I can see the splitting of the F and G. Lots of possibilities on Variety Vista too but at least VV shows other markers to try to narrow it down.

I am going to go another round trying to take better photos. These are pretty blah. But sometimes, a knowledgeable person will just short-circuit the whole grindy search by knowing some obscure marker or another identifier to id the variety straight off.

Typically, when you have doubling of the inits this strong, there is doubling on AMERICA and CENT. Maybe try to get some closeups of RICA and ENT. This should narrow it down.

Let's give these a shot. Apart from the separation lines on top of FG, there is also clear notching on the bottom right corners of N and T.

With what you have given me to work with, try these three. At this point, I'm favoring 004. Thanks for the extra pics.

The FG and NT certainly look similar to those listings. However, I find no strong splits on the CA of America—or anywhere else, for that matter—leaving me a bit stumped. Maybe the DDR features aren't there, or maybe my proof photography skills aren't up to the task.

I am going to declare a stalemate on this coin, and relegate it to the Needs Better Equipment box. Makecents, thanks for your help in attempting an id.
