Fifteen minutes ago when I tried to open the forum I received this error message
quote:
Provider error '80004005'

Unspecified error

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 133

www.coincommunity.com mainpage was working properly but not the forum
when I hit "Talk about coins" link on the left menu I received this error:
quote:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server(10060)

/forum/inc_header.asp, line 133

Any changes taking place at that time?

There was a glitch with the database server, I'm waiting to hear. That's why the rest of the site worked fine, it doesn't use a database.

Yeah, pretty much. Rui seems to think the DB server had to be rebooted.

As did I, but just figured that I had done something to cause the problem. Reported it to Bobby and Susan and things seem to be working just fine now. Thanks to both Bobby and Susan for their time and effort.

Glitches happen. In most instances, if something isn't working right, I just wait a few minutes and it usually corrects itself. More often than not, the problem is with my satellite system: the nature of satcom is that information is sent and received in packets (bursts of data, not a continuous flow) and on occasion a piece of the packet may be separated from a critical part and will corrupt a critical linked piece of data. A reload (refresh) will also correct the problem. If I were to report every time this happened, Susan and Bobby would ban me from the forum!
