I must have done someting wrong as I cant even post now.
I'm not recognized and keep referring me back to correct the problem.

So I sign in 'again' (three times) and still get the same message.
So here goes here and we will see if it takes it this time.

Pushing "post new topic' now.

Dan, I don't know what happened, there hasn't been any other reported problems. Glad its working now though.

As far as your sig, I'm afraid it just flat out won't work. The problem is the combinations of characters you are typing in are HTML codes for other characters. So when your browser proceeses the page code it's displaying the combinations as the character it represents.

For example...

# 36; (without the space) is $

You can see what I'm talking about here...

http://ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm

Try it, take one of the HTML codes there and put it in a post, then preview it, you'll see how it works.

Sorry.

Thank you Bobby, and I looked at the list you posted and the only thing I can think of is that the system must be reading some of the greek characters as something else and transposing what ever that is that it indicates. Surely the greek alphabet is printable on this system, or is it? This is way over my head.

I looked and all my posts have reverted to the jibberish again. It seems to come and go, for some reason.

Right now the signature is showing as it looks in your profile. What did you want to show?

And you should not infer that the greek alphabet could be shown here without code changes, no.

Dan, the last line in your signature is in Cryllic, something like "Kalabriyskaya coin" in Russian?
I guess caracter encoding of your browser was set to Unicode UTF-8 when writing it and it is displayed scrambled in any other encoding.
I use Turkish encoding and the English letters are the same, sometimes I hit some TR letters and they probably look scrambled in your screens.
I had to change some encoding formats to see the liast line of your signature.

I am not sure if you can have that line in Cryllic (if thats the intension) to display proper in everyones computer.

Yep, good catch RenaL. The signature shows correctly when setting the browser to Unicode encoding, but as you said, it would take a bit of effort to force everyone to use that encoding to view the forum, and it could yet be not enough.
