This Morgan dollar was given to me a few years ago by a family member. I noticed that the mintmark does not look like any of the other "O"s that other Morgan dollars have. Is this some type of rare variety or is this just a counterfeit?

Apologies for the lighting.

to the CCF, Awjinator!
That does look a bit sketchy. What is the weight of your coin?

Definitely a counterfeit coin. Look at your date against the real thing. The 1 and 4 don't look anything like they are supposed to.

It weighed out to be around 25g. I read somewhere they're supposed to be around 26.5g I believe. I did suspect it to be fake when I started to research even more. Luckily it was not something I bought or someone bought for me.

26.73 grams. They can lose some with wear, but not as much as yours.

By the way,
