I found this 2000 Virginia quarter that has either a die chip or doubling between Washington's ear and hairline. I have looked at other quarters and do not see this. What do you all think?

Maybe part of a Die Clash?

Well, with the newer coins minted, the doubling usually happens nearer to the center. So I cannot disallow that this may be a doubled ear, but that said, it may be MD, but I'm not seeing any reduced device elements.

If not considered a doubled ear then maybe some type of DDO or a well placed die chip.....start researching.

It doesn't match the only DDO listed on Wexler. However, that's the area where a doubled die would occur on those quarters.

Could also be a die clash, as mentioned. There is an odd cut through his ponytail near the base, and a bit of something under his eye.
