Looking for some CCF wisdom. In addition to the obverse anomalous damage, it looks like there is also a possible delamination on the reverse.

I'm thinking it's all PMD.

wow, I have never seen anything like this.

Over Lincoln's head could be an old lamination
Not sure what caused the indented space on his shoulder.

on the reverse on EPU, could also be an attached Lamination that slid down a bit.

I'm with Errers - this is all damage (blunt force trauma), not laminations.

I agree with PMD, It just seems the force needed to remove a sizable chunk of metal would leave behind more damage and evidence of cause. The amount of blunt force needed to remove the side of Lincoln's head or shoulder usually deforms the coin in some other way as well. I just thought it was a bit weird.

Metal wasn't removed. Something bashed on Lincoln's head, creating a depression. You can see that the reverse is slightly convex. It probably wobbles a bit with the obverse up.
Edit: The same applies to Abe's shoulder. You can see that the coin is out of round and protruding at E. Pl.

Thanks. The coin has no deformation on the obverse or reverse or in the area suggested, lays flat, and is perfectly round. But I agree that it appears to be PMD of some kind.

Keep and label it as a reference example

Yep!, separated from other culls for its uniqueness.
