no mint = minted in Philly. Yes, low end of the G scale. A rather typical, well-circulated early Wheat cent. Been around the block a few times.

Some photo suggestions:
If you're using a flash, turn it off. If not, diffuse your light with a paper towel or piece of opaque plastic from a milk jug.
Set your picture to "square".
Use Earle42's method - most of us on the CCF do, with very satisfactory results: A Phone, A Light, Some Books, And A Bottle Cap For Good Coin Pictures
