mhh916 New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 05/23/2009 7:01 pm Hi I have recently come across a good looking 1859 Canadian one Cent Piece that I was hoping someone could help and tell me how much it might be worth and where I might sell it. To get a good grade assessment there would need to be a good image of the portrait side of the coin as well. I may have missed it? Secondly, try to not hold the coin with your bare hands or at least hold it carefully around the edges as fingerprints can ruin the coin and the value. There are varieties of that particular date. TO me it seems that its is the wide 9 over 8. I am sure that others will be along to give better information and maybe help with which variety you have. Report this Post to the Staff

Take a look at this: To my eyes, it looks like Type 1 or "Wide 9 over the 8". I can't grade from the date, but here's what Charest's catalogue gives for values (in CDN$) F12: $45, F15: $52, VF20: $64, VF30 $74, EF40 $115 here!
