The population for ICCS 1951 PL dollars is low. In the 2008 (really end of 07) population report had no ICCS PL66 1951 SWL dollars. In the 2009 (really end of 08) in the report there are 3 in PL66. At Least 1 more has been graded already this year.

Are PL 1951 SWL dollars rare or is this an artifact of the fact that "Before 2006, The 1951 SWL wasn't in the Charlton catalogue. ICCS only certify varieties listed in the Charlton catalogue, and so they did not certify the 1951 short water line variety as to variety." and would you expect a lot more PL dollars of this variety to show up certified in the next few years?

I don't expect there will be much more show up in next few years. ICCS graded 275 coins in all grades only six SWL and PCGS graded 197 coins No SWL. I believe whoever
thought they have one already resubmit them for attributed in the last two years.

Hi adanak44,

Why do you think that the new Trends values (just updated by Michael Findlay) has the regular variety and the SWL identical in all 3 grades listed - PL64, 65 and 66?

Steve.
This is only my personal opinion. I may be wrong. I think he misrepresent the "Trends" the trend price should reflect the past realized value. He is predicting and forecast some of dates will show up more, the value of those coins should be lower in value. What people paid to-day are over price?

Yes, the attribution of SWL by ICCS to dollar coins is a newer thing. But collectors have been trading them for years now. One I like is the 1952 Missing Water Line variety.
