Is nickel cornrow hunting and I feel like I got a whole collection as I found many proofs from other years in the 60s and seventies but they have the s like I got an s/s 68 and some 40s think it was somebody's collection that got turned in anyways this nickel could be possibly a special mint set or a proof I can't really find it anyways to tell the difference between the two it might even have full steps

to the CCF, Rajeallday.
Although a nice nickel, it's not a proof and definitely not FS.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

As others have said, it's a circulation strike. With very few exceptions, the visual differences between business strike nickels and proof nickels is unmistakeable.

It looks like the special mint set when I googled it not sure how it got to that listing but I was like wow that looks like that people in read it said it could be approved and I was like doesn't seem like a proof to me true sir a different kind of shine but if you Google the special mint sets it looks very close to that how would you tell the difference between a special mint set and a business strike

It's not an SMS. You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning 6 days in a row than finding ANY 1964 SMS coin in the wild. They were never sold to the public, they were all found in the 1964 mint director's estate when she died around 1980. They were immediately all certified.
