Good afternoon friends and a Very Happy Easter. my name is Sean. I've about 41/2 -5 years under my belt so far but still learning and have a long way to go. Ive been a member for about 3 years I think but, this is my first actual post. Most of the time I just sit in the background and shut up and learn. That is until I have something worth while to say. I'm confident that today is that day.
I seem to have posession of a 1965 Lincoln that has the outline of the obverse bust under The Memorial on the reverse and a definitive silhouette of The Memorial under and protruding out each side of Lincolns bust on the obverse.
They are indented into the planchette rather than embossed. This is why I believe I have an authentic mule die clash here. I am including some pictures. I hope they are sufficient as I had a really hard time getting my lighting correct to accent the features. Let me k ow if I need more and I'll do my best to tske better ones somehow. Someone please make my day and, a huge thank you in advance.
Humbly, Sean

BACK to CCF. Glad you decided to get your first post logged, your first step to a few more (hopefully) and a very nice die clash.

Yes, you have a nice die clash, I think the name of that one is " Lincoln behind bars". It would not be a Mule though. A Mule is when the Obverse of one coin is struck with the Reverse of a different coin.

Excellent die clash. =)
It's quite strong, so that must have been one heck of a clang in the machine.
A mule is a combination of two different denominations (cent and nickel, quarter and half dollar, etc.). They are super rare. The only mule clash that comes to mind is the Flying Eagle 1¢ with a $20 gold coin clash, although I suppose there are others.

I had not heard that a clash of two reverses or two obverses is considered a mule clash. How many such clashes actually exist?
