Not really sure what happened to this coin. Greaser possibly or just completely got switched out of set and has post damage?

What's the weight of your coin? Could be a Greaser or struck on a Rolled Thin Planchet.

Looks more like a light strike than a Greaser.
The weight to two decimal points should help.

The normal weight of your coin is supposed to be 5.6 grams. 4.2 grams is way underweight. It was struck on a Rolled Thin Planchet. Nice find!

It definitely does carry a premium over face value. Put it in a 2x2 if you haven't yet.

Just one point to make: 4.2g is actually the correct weight for a quarter struck on dime stock. It could also be a rolled thin quarter stock planchet, of course.

Struck on dime stock quarters in uncirculated condition, graded by PCGS, seem to sell in the $100-150 range on ebay.

Wow, very interesting read. Very educational also. My quarter weighs exactly 4.2 grams. So is it safe to say that it was struck on a dime planchet? I think that I will get it slabbed.

Maybe you could post a picture of the edge? Perhaps a quarter struck on dime stock looks different on the edge than a rolled thin quarter.

Remember, the dime stock blanks were punched out in 1970 and fed into the minting machines. Your coin was minted 5 years before that happened so chances are slim.
