Wondering if anyone can share insight/opinions on the authenticity of this? Part of a relative's collection. Diameter and weight match this linked example. But it doesn't look exactly the same.

Numista comments section indicates a Variant with ¨NI 917¨ and ¨23 B¨ (with close up photos) ... perhaps yours is not the variant?

Not really my lane, see what others think.
Nice coin!

The obvious difference, beyond the fact that yours has a mirror finish and the one in the Numista photo does not (maybe it's just the photography, but it looks as though someone has been at it with a wire wheel!), is that yours is 900 fine, marked as such with an indented stamp, but the one in the Numista photos is 917, marked in relief without indent. Frankly I would be more likely to regard your specimen as trustworthy.

Thank you both for the insightful replies.

There's no real red flags to me to suggest it's obviously fake. I just don't see a perfectly matched example. I suppose I just need to get it checked for gold content at the coin shop. Thanks again.

Yes that seems like a really good idea. When you take this step, please add that info to this thread (regardless of the outcome) so that we can all learn.

Yes that one has an identical appearance, including the indented marks.

The listed width/weight of that one is different. Mine is 28mm and 12g. But the listing you sent also has a comment that these were made in different widths/weights. The edge details match.

I'll update when I know for sure. Thanks.
