I e found a small handful of turn of the century netherlands cents in my penny jars. Weird that something over a hundred years old can just get mixed in...and when did it get mixed in? Weird stuff

In the eighties your American cents were of the same size as our dutch 25 cents coins, which fitted perfectly well in the parkingfacilities. In 1983 the dutch cents seized to exist in circulation. Because of contents and the fact that the cents could not be changed into 5 cents coins or other circulation money, dutch traders were picking American cents out of the 1000 grams worldcoins bags and mixed them with worn old dutch cents as well as modern ones, to take them over to their holidays at International American Fairs and likewise spend the worthless cents as Lincoln pieces in local shops. That is my explanation.
