The 2025 Thnickel: Thicker Coins For All

Spence Moderator United States 34447 Posts	Posted 06/16/2025 10:40 am Arrived one day after Father's Day, but still a fun gift for the numismatist who (at least to his kids) seems to have nearly everything: The "Thnickel". These were designed in Pennsylvania by Theodore Nichols, but minted at the Shire Post Mint in Arkansas. I thought that the packaging was quite creative and I kinda didn't even want to open it up. I'll include a couple pictures, but not so many as to spoil all the fun aspects inside. As to the coin, it is both thick (15 mm) and hefty (42.24 g). Not sure how I'm going to fit it into a 2x2 though. It is made from 14-7 Stainless Steel and the obverse has inscriptions reading "In Mass We Trust" and "Respect Me" while the reverse features the Latin motto nummos crassiores omnibus, which he has translated as "Thicker Coins for All" and "Hefty Coin Nation". It was struck on a 100 ton Waterbury Knuckle press with 65 tons of pressure. I think that I have provided enough details for you to find them for sale on the interwebs if you also want one, but message me if not.
