Found this Lincoln Cent the other day. From my last post determined that this is a grease error - on the date. But noticed what I think is a die crack that goes from the rim thru the words "GOD WE" and then to the rim again. There is extra material sticking up on the W and O. There might also be another crack that starts where this one ends and goes thru the word "TRUST". Am I correct in thinking this? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

A Greaser, an over polished die issue in Liberty, and maybe a Linear Plating Bubble. I don't think it's a Die Crack.

Nice '83! A bunch of cool stuff going on. Have you weighed it yet to make sure it is struck on the proper planchet? I check all '83s and some '84s cause . Who knows, might get lucky Also can anyone explain what is going on the the Reverse peripheral devices? Specifically the D and S in uniteD States? I see that a lot as well?

A common occurrence on Lincoln cents. With alot of the metal filling the obverse die (Lincoln's bust area) the reverse letters sometimes fail to strike up fully due to lack of metal being available.

@Marve65, you are telling me that when the dies strike at however many tons of pressure (PSI) against the planchet that because the Obverse devices require so much PSI + metal fill that the devices on the coins Reverse experience unwanted conditions, such as the D and S in UNITED STATES, not having enough PSI and metal fill to complete particular devices?!?!?
That is pretty cool!

Also, not sure if this is MY autocorrect or something our MODS can pull off but I imagine this forums autocorrect function should not correct planchet to plan jet or plant hetero, lol I swear it corrected planchet as plan jet earlier and just recommended plant hetero

Yes - that's not only what I'm telling you but that is also what exactly happens.
