Hi everybody look this 1948 with major Die crack on the obverse side and I think I got lamination in the bottom of

It looks like a long lamination. Not sure why it seems that fluid seeped out of it, though.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Interesting example. It does look like a long lamination and not a die crack.

Maybe the lamination flaw was cause by oil trapped in the sheet of copper, which was still present during striking, causing the remaining oil to ooze out?
