Greetings all, a friend gave me this 1854 s the real damage on the reverse looks like somebody scraped it to see if it was gold. I believe the gold coins are supposed to weigh 33 point something, the one I got is 26.4 g, making me believe it's copper
Did some research but was getting conflicting stories about some education Thank you very much

Well the core is exposed because someone took a grinding wheel to it. Appears to be brass to my eyes.
