What can anyone tell me abiut this? Is it struck on penny or some copper planchett? Or what would cause it to be so orange? Weighs 2.2 grams.

To CCF! Your dime is showing environmental damage ( PMD). It could have been found metal detecting, and was later put back in circulation. It's not an error.

Just some type of toning.
Mint tolerances for clad dimes is: 2.177 - (2.5) - 2.359 so weight is "normal".
