Thanks Everyone! I just might search that box of 23's I got a while ago! Quote: I was unaware of this one coin rejector; I was only aware because I saw it on ebay!! I'm just starting this journey and trying to figure out what my strategy for searching will be - right now, I'm compiling a list of known dates to look at, and skipping the rest.

Nice clash!
Do you have pics of the other doubling on this coin? I'm not sure this is WDDR-045. The placement of the clash marks is slightly further east on your coin than it is on WDDR-045.

Quote: I'm not sure this is WDDR-045 Tanman2001 I actually don't see any other doubling. I attributed not being able to id any other doubling to circulation wear. Only the appearing/disappearing reflections which look like doubling. I tried looking through all of the varieties looking for the die clash. I only see one other example with the die clash, but, I think it is further off than 045 (even though the die scratch through the door looks closer!). Do you think that die clash would be on more than two varieties? I do see that the die clash is further east on my coin. Could this be from a slight off center strike on each of the coins creating this difference? Or, perhaps this should be considered a die clash WITHOUT the DDR? Sorry this is so long - I'm quite new at this! I appreciate your (and everyone elses) input. Here is the other variety: https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com...gs/view/1940

Since there's no other doubling, I do think this is just a die clash without a DDR. There should be visible doubling even with the light circulation wear here. All die clashes on the same type of coin should look very similar, with slight variances depending on the strength of the clash and the alignment/misalignment of the dies.

What about the die scratch? Would that still be there? Guess I better do some reading on the "tilt hub doubling"
Thanks for the info - tons to learn!!

Quote: What about the die scratch? Would that still be there? That's not a die scratch, it's part of the die clash. So, yes, it would likely be present on other clashed dies. If it were a die scratch then, yes, it would be unlikely to be on two different dies.
