This appears to be a 1914-D that someone decided to smash the D. To the left of the punch appears to be the serif of the D. Could be just the metal pushed up by the hit. Either way a shame.

I doubt there was ever a D there. I wonder if someone got mad from not finding one and took it out on this poor cent.

I think it is a 1914 Philly cent not a Denver one. What we see is the result of a BB impact from a slight angle and the raised metal on the left is from the material being moved and welled up.
