Before you make judgment, please hear me out and I'm not looking. This coin. When pressed in the making of it, will leave an impression also in the copper. If this was done intentionally or a dryer find. what are the impressions for the letter? D and ST states on the reverse side? Oh, there's a coin. And if you actually look at it,slsoo lower right hand corner, you'll see another the outer diameter of the coin

sorry, it is just a damaged dime - although, it would have been a nice MAD strike if it weren't for the damage.
I have a dime that looks similar to yours (damage wise)

Your coin is not even close to the one I posted. The impression are clear and it's shape is not compromised.

I am inclined to believe it is PMD, but willing to change my mind with more evidence.

I wasn't trying to compare my much more heavily damaged coin to yours, I was talking about the scraped off cladding of your dime and mine. it is just damage.

Question, how I look at this, I cant see it being a PMD the rim of the dime on the reverse side would have to be damage in order remove that layer and there is no scratch marks and how would you explain that there is no impression from where the missing letters are?

It has to be damage no matter how it happened.
There is no way the rim can be flattened like that
during the striking of the coin.

you still have not explained the missing letter on reverse this is pressed in so it would shown on the copper. So some hoe the coin was in the perfect setting the some of the clyde rubbed off and not touch the rim then was ablw to have 2 letters that are preased in at thousands of pounds, we're able to remove them not touched your rim and it made it look like it never was there. Wow you got better odds of hitting the bigger ball
