Hi everyone,

Was recently adding some coins to my collection and got excited when I realised I had a rare 1936 2 Reichspfennig E however on closer inspection I suspect the E has been reworked from maybe a 1936 F or D. It looks quite wonky and amateurish. Do others agree? Would love to add it to my collection if genuine but.....

Hi David,

Here's a NGC graded one I found online.

Here is the mint mark. Also doesn't look quite right, so maybe that is the way they are, but does look a little different to yours.

Hi Steve,
Hope you're doing OK in WA.
Yes, I did look at some online but none looked as wonky but maybe it's a bit o grease in the die. Interesting the middle horizontal has the same reduction in thickness. I'm going to go ahead and count this as genuine.

Cheers

David

I'm doing fine, thanks David. Hope you are too. I would treat it as genuine. Probably will never leave your collection anyway.

They appear very similar, so I have to agree this is probably how the E is meant to look.
