China, Tael Is It Genuine?

Hi, I'm trying to find out if this Tael is the genuine one.

I've tried to look through 'A catalogue of Sycee in the British Museum' by Joe Cribb but it's far too much challenging topic for me so I'll much appreciate any help/hints regarding this part of coin/money collecting.

This one seems to be made of silver and it's 96 grams.

@num, I can't help you with authenticity as I only know this type peripherally. I definitely recommend confirming (non-destructively) that it is silver as a first step.

An interesting piece. I have never seen one before. I hope it proves to be authentic.

This prior thread has a tael that is almost identical to yours (top one). Seems to suggest it is a fake often sold as a souvenir. I also saw the auction in Warsaw attempting to sell this item calling it a 20th century piece. I would not bid on that action lot.

The tael you posted also looks more like it is made of bronze than silver.

Looks too uniform to be genuine. I highly doubt that it's silver. If it does test silver, it could be silver plated. Sg test may help.

Yeah, it looks nice but I also guess that the best option is that it's silver plated.

Maybe someone has kind of similar piece in a collection?
Please share a photo if You have something like that.
