Nice RPM! I will look closer at this when I have time this evening. You may be correct but your mm position looks slightly south and east of RPM-029. Be careful of using the cracks and chips on the columns, as they are quite common and can look very similar. See what you think.

Thanks E&V, uruman, donnie, and makecents. Makecents I will be glad to hear your assessment after you look at it. The lighting in the picture on VV appears to be from the south and casts shadows north which may make it look slightly different. But I could be wrong. Please let me know what you think. Any thoughts on this find are appreciated! Thanks

Makecents, here are a couple of more pics. The 1st one is an angled shot showing the protrusion on the southeast corner of the mm. The 2nd is the right cornice where there is supposed to be a die chip but is worn enough I can't tell. Anyway thought this might help in your evaluation of this RPM. Thanks

Alright, FsdWarp10, check this out and I will let this go. I did not go beyond VV while searching, as there are several more on cc and Wexler that are different and beyond VV's, I just like using VV, the way I go about my RPM searching. I agree that the directional lighting could be messing with the way I see 029 against yours, but it just does not seem quite right to me for several different reasons.... So, take a look at VV's 048 and I will let this be. http://www.varietyvista.com/02b%20L...0DRPM048.htm

When I originally attempted to attribute this RPM The two I had it narrowed down to were 029 and 048. I too only used VV. When I found the long vertical die crack in the 12th column that matched 029 I thought I had it. But now you have made me revisit 048 and with some side light on the right cornice there may be enough of a flattened die chip left to attribute it to 048. The long vertical die crack shown in 029 also matches. Looking at the vertical line inside the MM I think it looks more like 048 now that I have looked at it for a while. The die scratches between the R and T in liberty shown for 048 do not show on this coin. So, in the end I think it is likely 048 but can't say for sure. Makecents, I appreciate your efforts - I always want to improve my skills and when people challenge me I get the chance to improve. Thank you

Some here mistake my lack of worry for being wrong for incompetence sometimes. I am not fazed by being wrong and will climb out on the edge of a limb to be proven otherwise, so I can either be right or learn something new. There are times being wrong can be the best thing in the world, if you look at it correctly in the end. Keep up the search, I like it when I run across folks that keep an open mind. Life is learning, when you get done learning, you will die well before you should because you are already dead.
