2020-D US Quarter Identify Dark Coloring.

Need help identifying cause of this and whether it could be an error. The coin appears almost black with a hint of brown and some parts are blueish mostly around the presidents head.

What are you considering an error? Discolouration of a coin is not an error.
There is no way for a coin to change colour when it is struck.
Just some sort of environmental damage from exposure to the elements.

Anyone got an idea as to what element would do this? I've seen a lot of rusted coins but nothing like this. Just curious.
