1958-D Die Clash W/Crack & Lg. Chip

I'm at a loss as to what else could cause the extra ridge of metal extending northeast off of the mint mark towards "5", I think it's one of the lines within the wheat stalk on a clash.

Under the chin is very faint indeed. I'm certainly open to it being coincidence, but here's a grainy photo that manages to show what I'm seeing at least

Agreed - if the "clash" is this indistinguishable it's not a clash.

I'll be reading up on die dents now, haven't seen one like this before. It extends off the D at the same height and totally threw me.

I'd called it a die chip due to its medium, "gray-zone", size between 1 & 4 sq mm. I was both surprised and confused by the large range between the two without a designated term. (I definitely agree that it's a RIDB, btw, just a smaller one I suppose)
