I got faked out by the seller photos for this BU 1942 nickel. The profile of the nose and the lines in some of the letters in IGWT led me to suspect that it was a specimen of FS-101. Alas, on closer inspection, the extra thickness on the profile appears to be a result of Die Deterioration or polishing.

It's still a very nice nickel, and I don't regret spending $7 on what might have been a home run.

This is the image that was so compelling. Not only does the nose have the thickened profile, but the lettering—particularly IN—has the characteristic shelf-like spread. Unfortunately, it's all just Die Deterioration or polishing.
