I found these pennies in change and their mint marks noteworthy.

The 1987's D looks like it's about to fall off the coin.

Both the 1988 and 1989's Ds seem to be inordinately large.

Looks about the same size as 89D's on PCGS (to me).
Perhaps looks just a tiny scootch bigger.

Added: Also looks similar to mint marks for 88/89 on VarietyVista.

First coin has bad zinc rot going on. The second and third coins have somewhat big mint marks.

The zinc rot on the first coin is not the issue. It's the placement of the mint mark.
