Sharing one more of the suppose errors that came on my last lot a 1962 double clipped , ( purchase of the errors was condition to see them on hand before been finalized) , in my opinion these clips were created after the coin was struck what do you think ?

I agree, this looks manufactured after the fact.
I don't see any Blaksley effect at all, and the rims at the edges of the clips run straight and true and don't fade into the clip.

However, the edge images show bulging along the center line of the clip suggesting that it was squeezed during the strike.

so I'm up in the air on this one.

Hmm, I see faint rim flattening above the U in united and below the C in cent opposite the clips, consistent with the Blaksley effect so I call genuine clips on this coin.

Hard to tell. Some clips don't have the Blaksley effect so that's not a absolute deal killer. But like Dearborn stated that it looks to have a seam in the middle of the clips and a punch press wouldn't look like that - you'd think it would be a complete shear.

I'm torn (not clipped...). My gut tells me this may be a case of manufactured clips.

with ijn1944. The clipped areas do not seem to have the same patina as the coin. Looks like it was done at sometime much later than when the coin was minted.
I stand corrected. Agree with MD

Both clips are genuine. Both show fadeout and taper of the design rim. Both show subtle metal flow in the letters nearest the clips. The clipped edges show the expected cut-and-tear texture.
