I found this coin from an old no-mintmark set of coins in a hard plastic holder. I never open it. I checked the real Monticello house; the location of the vent stack is the same. Good lord.

Could be the remnants of a Die Clash mark that wasn't completely polished off. https://www.error-ref.com/die_clash/

From the pics we have to work with, I would say E&V is correct. looks like a recessed area of the hair.

Yeah, that's either a weak lopsided die clash, or (more likely) a bit of die clash that survived post-clash die polishing.

@jbuck, @Spencer, and the coin community; we need to name this cute anomaly. So far, we have "Wounded Eagle, spike, birds' nest, etc. I think we should name this "vent stack" since it looks like it, and the location is similar to the real Montecillo house vent stack. What do you think, coin community?

I think vent stack would be a good name for it. It sure looks like one.

So far we have two cool names. We need to pick the coolest one.

1. Vent Stack Clash
2. Smoke Stack Clash.
