Hi Everyone! I have been collecting USA Coins mainly (but also have some New Zealand, UK, France, Spanish, Mexican and Canadian.
My oldest coin is from 1947. My favorite coin in the whole world is a
Kennedy half from 1976 that may dad pasted in my baby book (that's not my birth year, so I'm not sure why he chose it). I love coins with animals on them so have been really into the
America the Beautiful Quarters. I haven't narrowed down "what I collect" and probably should do that. I started about 8 years ago because I had a huge coin jar. I started watching YouTube and trying to learn about coin collecting. Throughout the last three years I've been heavy into reading coin books, trying to figure out Grading and Errors. It's hard!
I've recently rolled a bunch of my old quarters 1960's to current, that I have already gone through, if they are not above AU 58. I haven't found a single error :-( I think I'm just not too good at this. I have a digital microscope and a jewelry microscope. Maybe I just second guess myself or I am looking for something really noticeable? In any regard, I'm still plodding along. I bought a few coins off
ebay, and a few from a local coin shop, but everything else is from the bank or change from purchases. (Mainly change as I've only bought about 4 rolls from the bank so far). Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I don't think we are allowed to say our real names? But hopefully it's ok to say, I grew up in NZ, and have lived in California and New York. I used to be a CEO for a global company and so when I travelled (which was every month or several weeks for about eight years, I would always bring my international coins home. Anyway, I have only travelled twice in the past five years and I'm pretty much a homebody now and I do side hustles to make money (like selling online, creating content, and starting websites). I've always liked collecting things, and I'm fascinated with pricing and the psychology of collecting. I'm very analytical and love data, but I'm also creative and love drawing, graphic design, crafts etc.
