Not an error, it is called environmental toning.
Coins can change many colours depending on
the environment they are exposed too.

Environmental toning/damage.
"Black Beauties" were nickels that had a planchet problem from improperly being annealed. Supposedly only from 1958 to 1959.

this type of toning we call circulation cameo, but it does not add anything to the coin in terms of value.
