I haven't seen one quite like this before. Definitely interesting!

I'd love to see the last coin struck by this die pair.

Edit: Forgot to note, the crack on the wheat stalk ends at the tip rather than returning to the rim. Photos which showed this altogether lacked the resolution to see the interesting part.

Thanks, Errers!

I did take a look on CoC, no listed UDC or Cud in that general area of the obverse.

Dearborn, I'm rather sure they're cracks, especially looking around the date.

That being said... have any examples of polishing lines I could look at? I wouldn't mind being sure

The only reason I ask is that the lines are unusally straight and are evenly narrow through the full length. Most time when a die cracks, there will be some deviation and will not be so consistently narrow.

Ah, understood. It's definitely an unusual one...

The two longest "cracks", from below the bowtie to the rim & off the 1 in the date headed NE, do both start a tad thicker then thin out to a hairline (the line off the 1 ends halfway through the field).

My other thought, if not cracks, was perhaps an odd assortment of die scratches & gouges - perhaps damage after a strike-through? To your earlier point, perhaps polishing with a burr or dirt caught in the tool? I wouldn't think they'd be considered trails, but I certainly don't know, I'm in pure conjecture zone now!
