I'd love to see the last coin struck by this die pair. Edit: Forgot to note, the crack on the wheat stalk ends at the tip rather than returning to the rim. The two longest "cracks", from below the bowtie to the rim & off the 1 in the date headed NE, do both start a tad thicker then thin out to a hairline (the line off the 1 ends halfway through the field). My other thought, if not cracks, was perhaps an odd assortment of die scratches & gouges - perhaps damage after a strike-through? To your earlier point, perhaps polishing with a burr or dirt caught in the tool? I wouldn't think they'd be considered trails, but I certainly don't know, I'm in pure conjecture zone now!
