With the de minimis tariff exemption being eliminated, I have refrained 100% from buying coins of any kind from non-US buyers since the end of August. Unfortunately, I've had to pass on a number of great deals, for fear of getting stuck with ugly minimum "processing" fees (mainly UPS/FedEx), which I've heard others complain about on Reddit.

I'm curious if other have continued to purchase coins from non-US sellers, and if so, what have been your experiences with the new tariff situation? Excessive "processing" fees? Long delays? Or just tariff % fees, varying from country to country?

Thanks for your insights.

Admittedly, I accidentally placed a last minute bid on a $0.99 coin from Germany with cheap shipping, not realizing the location. The ebay notice on the phone app is small and I didn't see it until after I won, it stated I'd likely be required to pay a $15-30 minimum import fee...

I very politely took responsibility for the mistake and asked right away for the seller to cancel, and thankfully, they were very understanding...

I'm also curious to hear of others' experience with this. Anyone pay the import fee? If so, what was it in comparison to the purchase price?

I'm sure I'm not the only one!

The end of the de minimis was total brain dead , but I will
refuse to get into the political bee Ess .
Here is what American Buyers can safely do when dealing with
Foreign Sellers .
As most of you know I am a Canadian Coin Dealer near the US border .
Since September , you as an American can still purchase the following
tariff FREE.
USA coins , Canada coins and Mexico coins.
Reasoning is USA coins cannot be tariffed, Canada and Mexico Coins
fall under USMCA CUSMA agreement.
We have been shipping quite a bit to our US customers under this
arrangement . Lots of extra paper work for us and only a minimal cost ,which we as the
seller can absorb ( 99 cents an item ) .
So to our American customers that is one way .
Sorry the rest of it is a Chuck Barris GONG Show .
TARIFFS Anywhere from 10 to 50 per cent depending on
what country is being picked on.
Hope this helps a bit .
