Hello Everyone, I have these two coins/medals and I cannot seem to locate any information about them. I understand I should post one at a time but these came together in a pack from the Bradshaw & Darlington of England. Can you tell me if these were pressed into these medals, or were they made as one? Is there value there, should attempt to remove them, and does anyone know if these are real or replica coins? Thank you in advance.

@arb, it looks like you asked about these pieces back in 2018 over on numista. Those folks seem to have shown pretty conclusively that these aren't actual coins pressed into silver holders, but rather uniface replicas pressed into generic silver holders or else made as an integral part of the silver holder. Are you now questioning the information that you received there or do you have some new question?

Well Thank you Spence for jogging my memory, I have slept over 2,555 days since then. No I didn't remember that I asked that on Numista, if I had I would not have posted it here. From my history of photos I didn't see these items there so I thought I would ask the question. Plus it doesn't hurt to see if anyone else knows anything different. Asking questions isn't a bad thing. If I ever need any investigative work I know who to contact. LOL After reading the Numista Post, I still didn't get an good answer about value, of course its what someone will pay. Yet one should know an approximate value before selling. Maybe someone on this forum might have some better answers.

100% Agree. I just wasn't sure what more you needed answered. It isn't unusual to see the same question posed about the same coin posted on multiple platforms, but normally these posts occur within a few days of each other. This was a longer stretch of time so I got a bit confused.

I'll be interested to see if anyone thinks that these pieces are worth more than melt.

@marv, not good memory skills but rather good searching skills. With the keywords "CAIRO PALACE COLLECTION", that old numista post is the first result.

Hey Spence I wonder if these are a type of tourist purchase at these mints? The way they are packaged one would think there must be some kind of value there. I have several different sets of coins from this Bradshaw & Darlington Of England. The holders are not silver and I'm not even sure if these possible coins if they are coins are silver. I don't have an electronic silver tester only a gold one.

@arby, I'm really hoping that one of our UK-based members can weigh in on this. From what I'm seeing on the interwebs (specifically at numista again), the firm Bradshaw & Darlington was,

...a 60-80's equivalent of the "London Mint" "Pobjoy mint" etc. They minted "collectors" crap vaguely resembling real coins as well as some NCC's from minor nations.

In looking here at CCF, I'm only seeing one thread (with no responses!) here:

https://goccf.com/t/118123

plus a couple other threads where B&D is only mentioned in passing. I envision this seller as being the British equivalent of the Franklin Mint, but would happy to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable than I am.
