I have this capped bust dime that has some obvious reverse mint errors but is all this damage from the mint?

I have to say yes for most of it, but I am not sure about the parts that looked like they were scraped.

Looks like it could be a Lamination issue. I'm not 100% sure, but that's just my opinion.

To clarify what I said earlier, the run from 11 to 3 looks like a lamination.

The marks at 1 are suspect and the gouges right at 3 look like PMD.

If I had to guess what I thought happened to this coin: it was soldered as jewellery or otherwise mounted onto something. This attachment was then removed with such force that a piece of the coin tore away - in effect, an artificial delamination. The gouge marks we're seeing at 1 and 3 o'clock are from whatever tool was used to wedge underneath the coin to prise it away.

Possibly - but it still would have had to of been some type of lamination error for the letters to be struck up under the piece that was "torn" away.

Interesting thought on the damage, but I agree, it still had to have some sort of lamination.
