Friend of mine gave me a few coins to see if I could sell them. They were all error coins that I haven't found in all of my coin hunting so it is fun to see them in your hand. I will be posted all three of the coins he gave me.

This one is a 1999 P Nickel with a significant off center strike. The coin is in very good condition. Since my friend wants to sell it any suggestion on value would be appreciated. I assume depending on the value depicts if you should have it graded.

Nice Off Center! I'd say a price of 40 dollars sounds right.

Errers and Varietys - Thanks for the response. So no grading needed, just put it on ebay and see what we can get for it.

Apologies if you know this already (I don't want to be overly pedantic) but grading refers only to the overall condition of the coin, while attribution refers to naming of the error or variety present.

You have to pay for both services if you want the TPG to label them, and that raises the cost substantially.

Generally, collectors of high grade coins don't care as much about errors and collectors of error coins don't spend more to get a high grading example.

If someone wants a nice example of an off center strike like yours they don't need to pay for a professional to tell them it's an off center strike, because that's obvious.

I'm generalizing, of course, as rare errors and very high grade coins with errors are worth more, but it doesn't automatically add the value you might think.

Nice off center nickel with a full date.

Well said @HGK3. That is solid advice.
