RAM and Bluey have teamed up again .
15 coins this time...... one is Silver.
7 have privy marks (5 pointed star)
3 are coloured it seems, silver included.
Will this $2 release be bigger than the prior $1 coins or are people over it?
My guess is the hype will carry on..... as I want them all

Yes, will be interesting to see how this one goes. People seemed to go nuts for the last $2 release but that was for a coin that commemorated a significant event - the 80th anniversary of WWII. I wonder how many people can keep buying every 'coin' that the RAM pumps out?

Commemorating cartoon characters seems to be out of whack with the previous way of recognising SIGNIFICANT people and events in Australia's history. Images of unique native animals are also a reasonable thing to use on our national currency. I think our national currency should reflect something that we can all be proud of. Not sure abstract cartoon characters are of equal standing with those people, events or native animals that have previously been depicted on our currency.

The RAM are going down the same path as Australia Post did years ago and just pumping out 'junk' products just to bleed money out of collectors. Australia Post still keep issuing stamps but who uses them for their original purpose these days? The last issue of AFL coins also flopped and they can be bought for less than the original recommended retail price. I wonder if we will see Woolies or the other retailers bother with colored $2 coins in the future when the previous releases are easier to get from ebay?

I think it will be interesting to see how these 'junk coin' releases go. How much longer will people collect them I we go cashless?

Not sure anyone will be happy with Australia Post and RAM after this early release on ebay as many stores have their allocated amount on ebay already .
Not many left in store to purchase on release day.
I was looking eagerly to add them at RRP but may miss out like many Bluey fans.

Looks like this is how the RAM and their authorised dealers (and ANDA members?) release coins now? Same sellers as with previous collectable coins - sellers who have sold significant amounts of coins previously - sellers who repeatedly have early access to coins. It sticks out like the dog's proverbials. I wonder how and why it is allowed to continue? One seller has already sold more than 70 coins that haven't even been released yet! I wonder if EQL will still claim that the FULL amount of coins will be available through their ballot?

This sort of thing spoils collecting. It's bad enough that the RAM is following in Australia Post's footsteps and pumping out junk 'coins' to bleed money out of collectors. This early release artificially boosts the market price. It should not be allowed.

As a collector of circulating coins I will be interested in getting examples of the circulating versions in uncirculated condition. I won't bother with the other ones. Once again I will probably be at the mercy of the ebay sellers. I guess we will see?
